Women Panel Discussion

       On April 16, 2011, some 15+ Asian American Christian women crowded into a college apartment and talked, shared, and struggled over different issues that were very real and very important for them.  The followings are their questions.  Listen carefully to their voices behind each questions......their struggles hidden between sentences.  And ask yourself: what did you hear? and how would you answer their hearts' cries?

Part (I) General question about relationship with God

• ·         What do you do when it feels hard to pray because your heart isn’t there and you don’t want to force yourself to pray because you don’t feel like it would be genuine?
• ·         When you are feeling distant from God or just spiritually dry, what do you do to help resolve that?
• ·         What biblical truths do you/should we emanate the most in your/our walk as a Christian woman/women?
• ·         Share with us one defining moment/event in your walk with God
• ·         If I don't pray a lot, read the Bible, meditate during a period of time, will God reach me and save me from being away from God?

Part (II) Questions about College Life

• ·         During your college years, did you encounter any difficult times? What were the situations? How did you solve the problems? What role did God play during these situations? Do these experiences change your view of God or life, and draw you closer to God?

• ·         How to deal with roommate problems?  If the roommate(s) is/are Christian(s)?  If they are not?  How do we choose roommates?  Any rules or restrictions from the Bible?
• ·         How did you choose your majors? Does it relate to your current career? How did God lead you? Any examples?

Part (III) Questions about Dating and singleness:

• ·         I have a boyfriend who is not a Christian, what should I do as a Christian?

• ·         Once you get into a relationship, how do you define your boundaries?
• ·         How can you (what do you do to) stay above reproach in your relationship?
• ·         Is there truth the fact that boy should always pursue? (If you like a boy, what do you do?
• ·         Can you share about any struggles you had or lessons you learned from when you were still single/dating?
• ·         How do you know that you're content [in singleness]?

 Part (IV) Questions about Marriage:

• ·         What is the hardest thing about marriage?
• ·         How do you love your husband?
• ·         Are there any couples in the bible that are a good example of an edifying marriage?\
• ·         For financial reasons, should you be financially dependent or independent of your husband? (ie, should women work.)
• ·         A lot of the girls have shown a desire to be financially stable/independent or at least not completely dependent on their husbands.  Is this mindset okay?  Does it go against the Bible?

       Part (V) Questions about Family and Parenting

• ·         As a mother, how do you instill a desire for God in your children?
• ·         How should we raise our children? What are the Christian views on adoption? 

       Part (VI) Questions about Relationship with Parents (as Adults):

• ·         Biblically speaking, how much input should your parents have in determining your relationship? What if your parents aren't Christian?
• ·         How do we honor our parents as their daughter?
